USDT is issued on many blockchains. The three you meet most often are TRC20 (TRON), ERC20 (Ethereum) and BEP20 (BNB Chain). The token has the same value on each, but the networks are separate: you must send and receive on the same one.

Which one to choose
- For payments and transfers between people and exchanges, TRC20 is the most common choice: low fees, fast, and supported by almost every exchange.
- ERC20 makes sense when you need Ethereum DeFi or the recipient only supports Ethereum.
- BEP20 is convenient inside the BNB Chain ecosystem.
How not to lose funds
- Look at the address:
T…means TRON;0x…means an EVM chain (Ethereum, BNB Chain and others). - Select the same network in the withdrawal form as the receiver specified.
- For a new receiver, send a small test amount first.
- Check the address with the TRON address checker before sending TRC20.
FAQ
Is USDT TRC20 the same as USDT ERC20?
Both are worth one US dollar and issued by Tether, but they live on different blockchains. You cannot send one network's USDT to the other directly — use an exchange or a bridge.
Why is TRC20 cheaper?
TRON's fee model uses energy and bandwidth, which you can obtain by staking TRX or renting energy; even when paid by burning TRX, transfers are usually cheaper than on Ethereum.
Can I receive TRC20 USDT on a 0x address?
No. TRC20 USDT can only be sent to TRON addresses that start with T.
Which network does my exchange deposit address use?
