A USDT TRC20 wallet is any wallet that supports the TRON network. You get a TRON address (starting with T) that can receive TRX and USDT. There are two kinds of wallets — choose based on who should hold the keys.

  1. Install TronLink from the official site or your app store.
  2. Choose Create wallet and set a password.
  3. Write down the recovery phrase (12 words) on paper. Never photograph it or store it in chats.
  4. Confirm the phrase. Your TRON address (T…) is shown on the home screen — this is your USDT TRC20 address.

Option 2: Trust Wallet and other multi-chain wallets

  1. Install the wallet and create a new wallet; back up the recovery phrase.
  2. Find Tether (USDT) — TRON in the token list (enable it if hidden).
  3. Tap Receive to see your T… address.

Option 3: Exchange deposit address

On an exchange, open Deposit → USDT → network TRC20. You get a T… deposit address managed by the exchange. Convenient, but the exchange controls the funds.

Activate the wallet and prepare for fees

  • A new TRON address becomes active with its first incoming transfer.
  • Receiving USDT is free for you. Sending USDT requires TRX for energy and bandwidth — keep some TRX on the address. Details in TRON energy and bandwidth.

Want a memorable address?

Instead of a random T… string you can use an address that ends with …USDT, …8888 or your own characters: generate one for free in the vanity generator or pick a ready one from the catalog, then import its private key into TronLink.

FAQ

Is a TRON wallet the same as a USDT TRC20 wallet?

Yes. Any TRON wallet shows both TRX and TRC20 tokens like USDT on the same address.

How much does it cost to create a USDT TRC20 wallet?

Creating a wallet is free. A new address activates when it first receives funds, and sending USDT later costs network fees in TRX.

Can I create a USDT TRC20 wallet in Telegram?

Some Telegram-based wallets support USDT on TRON, but most are custodial: the service holds the keys. For full control use a self-custody wallet.

I lost my recovery phrase. Can I restore the wallet?

Not without the phrase or private key. Self-custody means nobody else can recover it — keep backups offline in a safe place.
